Recording Notes:

'Recording for "Mister Roberts' Epiphany" commenced summer, into fall, of 2011. Originally I intended to do a fully unplugged album of "greatest songs," the crowd favorites that I knew everybody liked. I did record a 12 song album like that, but shelved it to work on something a bit more elaborate, something that would sound like a band had recorded it.
Most of the songs I came into the studio with were road-tested, and many were favorites of Affirmative Jackson fans. After that band broke up, I still wanted the fans to have well-recorded versions of the songs they loved. I also needed to breakaway and become my own artist. Doing so was incredibly liberating, and I haven't looked back since.
Paul Hubert was also kind enough to allow me to record a cover of The Buskers' "Juliet," which he had written. After hearing them perform it live at the Sant Bani School Cabaret that summer, I knew I could give it a rockabilly take. Paul approved.' - Zach Benton.

Marketing & Release Notes:

'Ross Feitlinger took several photos for the album cover. I was really looking for something nice and sunny. It was a gorgeous fall day, and we took to Robin Hood Park in Keene for the shots. I had just gotten out of work at Mt. Monadnock, and we were racing against the sundown. I've included a couple of the "outtakes" from that photo session here.
There was a release concert event at the Starving Artist in Keene, a show split between myself and Ian Galipeau for his debut solo album, "This Cluttered Mind of Mine." The band that backed me up that night consisted of Ian & Aly Galipeau, Sam Vendt, and Jon Braught. Nicole S. Colson also wrote a great article on the recording, my first exposure in the wonderful Keene Sentintel.' - Zach Benton.
